Electropolishing
OPTINOX EPS is a multi-component electropolishing fluid used in many areas of industry. It is produced using electrochemical methods to remove dirt and metal from the surface of the workpiece, polish the metal surface, bind oxygen to the newly formed surface, and create a germ-free environment.
It cleans and polishes the surface by dissolving all surface dirt, oxidation, burrs, and base metal up to 15-30 microns thick.
It can be applied to stainless steel, titanium, gold, nickel, brass, and aluminum surfaces. Every corner of the surface, including curves, corners, and edges, is achieved with the same shine.
A highly chromium-rich passive layer forms on the surface. The surface is clean and smooth at every point, preventing microbes from harboring it (Ra≤1 micron).
It is frequently used in the aviation, automotive, chemical, petrochemical, food and beverage, electrical, electronics, textile, paper, yacht and shipbuilding, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics sectors, as well as in hospitals and for the cleaning and maintenance of surgical equipment.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Parts to be electropolished should be degreased, deburred, passivated, and rinsed beforehand. The temperature of the electropolishing bath should be between 30°C and 90°C. The bath should be set to 20-30 VA and deliver 1.5-3 amps per liter of bath.
Current densities should be 10-20 a/dm² for chrome-nickel steels, 10-30 a/dm² for chrome alloys and low-alloy steels, and 20-40 a/dm² for carbon steel, and the polishing time should be between 3-12 minutes. The material removal rate should be 7-15 microns / 100 amps * min / dm². To eliminate problems due to gas escape and gas retention in hollow areas, the parts must be moved within the bath and the bath liquid must be mixed with compressed air. The rectifier must be turned off when parts enter and exit the bath. Remove as much of the solution on the parts removed from the bath as possible with water or spray washing.
